10 Tips for Sellers


1. Criticise your home; look for its faults. Ask your CENTURY 21 agent to give you their honest opinion.

2. Spring clean your home; clean the walls, polish the floors, steam clean the carpets, clean out the gutters etc… ironically your home looks its best as you are about to leave it.

3. Create a sense of space in your home, move furniture around if required to allow inspectors to walk freely through rooms.

4. Remove clutter; clean out wardrobes, drawers, bookcases, cupboards. Send anything you don’t want to charity and tidy up the items you keep.

5. Repair, repaint or replace; patch any cracks, replace broken glass, repair wood rot. Arrange for plumbing repairs, replace mismatched light fixtures and switch plates.

6. Neutral paintwork, carpets and curtains can accommodate most styles. Remove loud wallpaper and controversial artwork.

7. Tidy up your garden, buyers will drive past your home at all hours of the day keeping the lawn tidy at all times and weeding the garden demonstrates care to a potential buyer.

8. Open curtains and blinds during your open for inspections – allow for maximum light.

9. Work with your CENTURY 21 agent in setting a realistic sale price for your home.

10. Give yourself 5 minutes to relax before your CENTURY 21 agent arrives for the open for inspection.
