Paul is a Novocastrian and has a wealth of local knowledge. He served his apprenticeship and qualified as a builder and worked for three years sub-contracting in cottage construction. In 1972 he changed careers and followed in his father and grandfather’s footsteps in the family real estate business. In 1974 Paul obtained his Real Estate Licence. He became Licensee of the firm and has managed Johns & Co successfully until merging with Century 21 Charlestown.

Over the years he has received many awards for his achievements in the industry and is regarded highly by his colleagues for his integrity and dedication to the job.

Paul’s knowledge of the building industry has assisted him greatly in assessing properties with an expert eye, allowing him to give his clients an added professional dimension when buying or selling their properties.

Paul is a founding supporter of the Newcastle Knights and attends all the home games. He is a passionate fisherman and golfer when he has the time.

Suzanne started her career in real estate in 1993 when she commenced her licencing course at TAFE. By 1995 her full-time career had commenced. The beginning of her long relationship with Century 21 Carkeet Johns Smith started in 1997.

A strong passion for real estate developed early in her working life as she could see the benefits of property investment in achieving financial stability. Her sparkling personality and knowledge of the market has provided a strong following of satisfied clients.

Suzanne has been privileged to receive a number of awards within the highly acclaimed Century 21 system. Some of these awards include the Centurion Award (Only awarded to top 2% of Century 21 Agents worldwide).

On a personal note, Suzanne lives locally with her husband Jim who supports and encourages her committment in real estate.

Shane joined his father & Century 21 Carkeet Johns Smith founding partner Vic Smith as a fourth generation Real Estate practitioner. Shane specialises in Residential Sales in the Lake Macquarie & Newcastle areas. Shane’s background prior to Real Estate includes an involvement in the management side of an International Franchise group and he holds a Degree in Commerce. To this day Shane is still involved with Garden Suburbs soccer club, a team he & his family have been associated with since his Primary School days at Hillsborough Primary School.

Shane has been honoured to receive a number of awards within the highly acclaimed Century 21 system including admission to the Diamond Masters Club.

On a personal note Shane is happily married to Megan and has four children named Hamish, Bayden, Gabi & Lachlan. Shane has lived in the Newcastle & Lake Macquarie region all his life and his knowledge as a local resident allows him to promote the genuine benefits of living here to potential buyers and communicate with them on a personal level.

Vic commenced his Real Estate career in the mid 70's and went on to establish an agency in Charlestown in the late 80's. Over the years Vic has held several Senior Management positions within Real Estates most influential bodies including the Real Estate Institute and twice Chairman of EAC Multilist. Vic is a Licenced Real Estate, Business and Strata Agent and is also a licenced Auctioneer. He has REI accreditation in Real Estate selling, Property Management and Auctioneering.

Dean began his career in Real Estate in 2002 after successful backgrounds in both Aquaculture/Marine Biology and the Australian Army.

Outstanding customer service and a no-nonsense approach to real estate are the key ingredients to Dean’s success. On a personal level he is a passionate supporter of rugby league and has the wonderful support of his wife Danielle & daughter Taylah.

Matt grew up in Newcastle, and attended St Phillips Christian College. He then went on to study accounting at Newcastle University at the same time as a Diploma in Property. It was here that Matt decided to pursue a career combining both his passion for real estate and for people. Matt is focussed on his career as a professional sales person and enjoys building relationships with people. Matt’s driving force is helping people achieve their real estate goals.

After moving from Charlestown, Newcastle to the Central Coast in the late 80's, Annette started her family, worked in her husband’s businesses as financial controller, ran her own cosmetics business, was an advertising consultant for a wedding magazine and modelled in fashion parades & commercials – all at the same time! Annette then moved into sales and marketing in radio at Central Coast Radio (2GO & SeaFM), a large motor dealership (Brian Hilton Toyota) and with the Central Coast’s biggest newspaper the Central Coast Express Advocate. Annette is a conscientious, hard working person and now that her children are older she returns to her home town of Newcastle and intends to continue her career in real estate.

Madeleine began her career in Real Estate in 1980 in the Sydney suburb of Bondi. She began as a frontline receptionist and advanced to property manager, office manager and sales support. Finally, she has settled on a career path in Property Management. Madeleine has been very successful in Real Estate because she is a people person and therefore is a very attentive listener, pays great attention to detail and gives the service to her clients that she herself would expect to receive. Madeleine has a natural ability to interact with people and has developed a wide network of colleagues within the industry who hold her in high esteem. She has a practical approach to problems and deals with them with as much empathy as possible. Madeleine has completed her years in the industry at the Hunter Institute of Technology.

Sophie has been a team member of the rental department at Century 21 for many years and she prides herself on ensuring her clients needs are always met. Sophie has a full understanding of the Property Managers role as she worked as a Property Officer and was involved in various aspects of property management including repairs, arrears control, ingoing and final inspections. She is a very enthusiastic dedicated Property Manager who has built a strong rapport with landlords, tradespeople and tenants alike.

Donna started her Real Estate career in Penrith in 1988 as a Property Manager. Over the years Donna has worked in a number of roles in the Real Estate Industry, including sales administration & receptionist. Donna first came to our team in 1991 and has returned as a Property Manager's assistant dealing with repairs, maintenance periodic inspections and arrears. After 9 months Donna has taken on the role as Property Manager where she feels her vast experience will provide her clients with the best possible service. Donna likes to spend her weekends outdoors with her husband Gary and her two children Demi & Kurt.

Lisa has worked in Real Estate since 1986 starting as an office junior. Over her years in Real Estate Lisa has done Reception, Property Officer, Property Manager and Rent Trust Operator. Lisa is currently job sharing as Sales Coordinator two days a week and one day a week as Payroll Officer and Business Account Manager. Lisa also holds her Certificate of Registration. Outside of work Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband Mark and two children Daniel and Isobel.

Joanne commenced her real estate career in 1983 as a receptionist. Over the years Joanne has worked in various roles in both property management and sales and holds a Certificate of Registration. Joanne commenced working for Century 21 in 1986 and is currently the Sales Coordinator and Sales Trust Account operator. Joanne lives locally and enjoys spending time with her husband Bruce and her two children Rebekah and Tayla.

Kate joined our team after completing her HSC and a school based traineeship in business services. She is currently working with us as a Marketing Coordinator and has recently completed a Certificate IV in Property through TAFE. Kate lives in Lake Macquarie and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Melissa commenced her real estate career in 2005 as our receptionist after completing a Diploma of Business at Newcastle TAFE. After working in the role as Marketing Coordinator in our sales department for three and a half years, her role now is Rental Accounts Manager managing the rental trust account. Melissa also holds a Certificate of Registration. Melissa is also currently completing a Bachelor of Business at Newcastle University to further her career. Melissa lives locally with her family and enjoys spending time with her husband Ben.

After completing her HSC, Sarah went on to study and has obtained her Business Administration Certificate III, and Financial services certificate III. Sarah is currently completing a traineeship in certificate IV Property Management with our team. Sarah lives in Lake Macquarie and enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Teresa joined our team in 2011 as Property Manager’s Assistant. She has over five year of property management experience previously and has a broad knowledge of the Real Estate industry. Teresa grew up in Sydney and moved to Newcastle in 1997. She previously worked in legal industry specialising in conveyancing and did this for many years. Teresa enjoys assisting the team and her goal is to provide the highest level of customer service and satisfaction and is always happy and willing to assist you in any possible way she can. In her spare time Teresa enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Julie began her career in Real Estate in 1984 staring on Reception and working up to being a Property Manager. After 9 years in Property Management Julie decided on a change and along with her husband Terry, started and ran a successful business. With this business selling, Julie decided to go back to Property Management—a job that she always enjoyed. On weekends Julie enjoys spending time with her two daughters Shannon and Jemma.

I started my real estate career in 1997 in sales administration. Since beginning in real estate I have worked in the positions of reception, rental trust accounts, property officer and sales administration. I hold a current certificate of registration. I enjoy spending my free time and weekends with my husband Brock and my two adorable children.

With a wealth of administration and customer service experience working in the hospitality and education industries, Melissa joined the Century 21 Charlestown team as receptionist on a part time basis in September 2007. Melissa completed an Advanced Certificate in Management during her time living in Sydney, which combined with her many years of working in an office environment, has increased her skills. Melissa returned to live locally to raise her family and enjoys spending time with her two young children, Amelia and Samuel.

Sara joined our team in 2011 as a receptionist. Sara has over 8 years experience working in various secretarial roles including 5 years in the real estate industry. Sara has completed her Certificate II and Certificate III in Business and enjoys working as part of a team. Sara lives locally with her young family and enjoys spending time outdoors with them.

John has worked in the building industry for over forty years as a ceramic tiler working in the Newcastle and the Hunter Valley when he decided he needed a sea change and was lucky to find a position as a Part Time Field Assistant with Century 21 Carkeet Johns Smith. Having dealt with this company on a professional basis through the sale of a development project which his wife Elizabeth and John shared, when this position became available he applied with no hesitation. John is currently working three days a week. John is a father and father in law to Mark and Lisa, Louise and Mark and a very proud grandfather of Rose, Daniel, Sophie and Isobel and loves following all their interests.
