Wannanup, originally named Florida, was renamed in 1996 after the newly formed Dawesville Channel divided the suburb in half, creating two separate suburbs Wannanup and Florida respectively.

Home to some of Mandurah’s beautiful beaches, Wannanup is popular location for Surfers, holiday goers and families alike with its Reefs and long stretches of swimming beaches.

Wannanup is also home to an upmarket housing development named Port Bouvard Island. Port Bouvard features stunning manmade canal ways which draws water from the Dawesville Cut and the Peel Inlet. It’s not uncommon to see pods of Dolphin’s swimming past your canal home or by your boat as you spend the day on the water.

There is an abundance of great facilities located within the Wannanup area that occupy its many reserves, beaches and parks including:

• Swimming Beaches
• Surfing Beaches
• Picnic Areas
• BBQ facilities
• Picnic tables
• Parking areas
• Public Toilets
• Beach Showers
• Pathways

With public transport access and close to shopping precincts and schools, Wannanup is a fantastic suburb in the Mandurah Area for our residents to reside in.
