Joan has a strong background in both finance and sales. She started her career with a community based banking institution and later rose to key supervisory roles within the organisation while also assisting the board of directors with their duties.
Following the birth of her son, she opted for a career change by pursuing her love of fashion and running her own retail outlet in one of Melbourne’s prime shopping strip locations. Combining her financial management and customer relationship skills, Joan was able to build up her business to the point where it began attracting the interest of retail investors. Having spent six years managing her expanding enterprise, Joan reluctantly accepted an offer to sell it to a major Australian fashion label.
With her discerning eye for detail and design, financial experience and proven sales ability, she quickly established herself in the real estate industry, initially working with a project marketing firm and then a leading real estate agency. Upon gaining her estate agents qualifications, Joan considered numerous offers of employment before deciding to start an agency that specialised in project marketing.
As a fully licensed real estate agent in her own right, Joan is now able to exercise a greater freedom over her decisions about how to best serve her clients.
What appeals most to Joan about project marketing is the opportunity to work with developers and potential buyers literally from the ground up. Being able to understand a developer’s vision for a project and then communicating it to buyers when there are just some architectural plans and a vacant site in place is both challenging and rewarding. Seeing a project take shape from concept through to completion and then sharing in the joy of buyers when they finally take possession of their brand new home is something she has found to be particularly fulfilling.
