Anyone remember the Patty Duke Show, featuring two cousins who are identical in looks but with completely different personalities? That just about describes the townhouses at 11A and 11B First Avenue, Ascot Park. The floorplans are the same, only reversed and that's where the similarity ends. The left of the pair is white and gleaming, a knockout extrovert with a confident Gold Coast glamour while her country cousin nest door has an understated, classic appeal.

A clever use of long windows allows light to flood into the downstairs galley entry. It's dead quiet here with surprisingly country views of tall gums and neighbouring plum and apricot trees. A powder room is first past the entrance, before a long living/dining room with sliding doors outside. The open plan kitchen also gains a big window and has stainless steel appliances.
Light floods in easily upstairs, due to windows each end of the staircase. The main bedroom is particularly large while a back bedroom and adjoining study could cope with a small child and their paraphernalia.
Both the glamour girl and the quiet cousin would love the location. The bright lights of the city, Glenelg and Marion Centre are at nearby points while the park opposite and the nearby library would keep the country girl happy. And everyone would benefit from the train station, just a few minutes walk away.
