Organising events can be an enormously time-consuming task for an organisation. However many events are quickly forgotten the next day by those who attended. As social media now plays such a prominent role in many people’s lives, it’s important that you make your event social media ready. This could be as simple as printing out some banners with your twitter handle or a relevant hash tag so people can easily share their involvement with the event online.

Customise your promotional material

With cheap and accessible digital printing, it’s easier than ever to put together a customised flier or brochure for attendees. You may also be able to cost-effectively print out a banner or poster with a special offer for attendees of the event.

Use technology to your advantage

If you’re asking people to sign up to a mailing list, it may be worth considering offering the option to sign up on a tablet. By using a free tool such as SurveyMonkey you can set customisable fields and ask attendees to express what services they’re interested in hearing about. This will then save you time and effort spent manually entering attendee’s details into your computer system afterwards – time much better spent planning for your next event.
