CENTURY 21 CELEBRATES CULTURE-FIRST AT 2022 ANNUAL CONVENTION

Over 160 Century 21 Australasia network members gathered at the Novotel Twin Waters on the Sunshine Coast (19–21 July) for the real estate group's biggest event of the year, the 2022 Annual Convention.

This year's theme was RE:engage with a purpose-driven program of best practice training across sales, property management and leadership. The three day event also included a number of important networking functions geared around reconnecting C21 colleagues to share business ideas and celebrate successes.

Guest speakers at the training day included AFL leadership legend, Leigh Matthews; peak performance coach, Sherrie Storor; sales mastery expert, Lee Woodward and PM super trainer Vasili Hadzellis; alongside C21 Chairman and master storyteller, Charles Tarbey.

Drawing from talent inside the network, delegates also heard from multi-award winning property management leader, Casey Healey; disciplined sales multiplier, Joe Morrow and master business administrator, Shantell Smith.

A focal point of the event were the two celebrations honouring the efforts of individuals and teams across the network.

A record number of offices (20) and high performing sales individuals (120) were recognised as Centurions in 2021 and these recipients gathered at a special dinner celebration to kickstart the event. Centurion status is a Century 21 globally accolade for the top 2% of achievers in a calendar year.

The three most prestigious culture and values-based awards within Century 21 Australia were presented at a gala dinner after the training program day.

The Century 21 Novocastrian team from Newcastle, NSW were the 2022 recipients of the 2100 Cup which is awarded to a single office annually for their commitment to the C21 system, community leadership, continual evolution and implementation of new ideas into their business operations.

Paul Duffy, Principal at Century 21 Advance Realty in Bunbury, WA was honoured with the Sam Raiti Shield for his empathetic leadership, mentoring, unwavering support of others and dedication to the C21 brand and value at all levels.

Two outstanding business leaders were inducted into the Century 21 Hall of Fame which acknowledges their demonstrated leadership, customer service and professionalism in all facets of business and local community. They were: Maddie Dolan, Principal of Century 21 Maddies Hermans in Scarborough, QLD and Wally Karpiuk, Director of Century 21 Golden Estates, Mawson Lakes, SA.

In a surprise presentation which personified the culture-first values of the network, Caroline Alayan was awarded Honorary Centurion status in recognition of her 15 years of service as the the face and voice of corporate Century 21 in her role as receptionist at the York St headquarters.

"Culture-first have been part of the Century 21 business model since its inception, both in Australia and globally. There is a reason the Peter Drucker missive 'Culture eats strategy for breakfast' rings true and we don't have to look far within our business to see why," said Century 21 CEO, James Bell.

"Our office leaders really lead by example and I congratulate Paul, Maddie, Wally, Casey and Nick on receiving this year's highest honours. I believe that sharing our collective knowledge can make us stronger as a team but it only gets us so far. Celebrating our people and culture is the core to our growth and future success," concluded Mr Bell.
